Agristability, is this related to the MNP, Edison Motors scandal?

Often when the topic of Agristability comes up, someone will opine that the only way to get a payout is if you hire MNP as your accountant. I didn't give that much thought until now.

MNP in BC has been involved in a racket where the only way to get approved for low emission vehicle development grant is to hire MNP to complete the application.
In exchange MNP takes a 20% cut of the grant.
And as it turns out, MNP is also in charge of approving said grants. Or not approving them if they didn't complete the application.
And the politicians wanted to keep this under cover.

Is it possible that something similar is going on with Agristability? Is it not pure coincidence that MNP is the only accounting firm who can successfully obtain a payment? I don't know if that is actually the case, I only know that many on this forum have made that claim. I'm not in the program.

Definitely not a requirement for Agristability.

The reason their name comes up in regards to Agristability, is tgat they have done consulting for the government about the program and have specialists regarding the program.

I have just recently gone to MNP from a smaller local firm. Don't think they taught me anything new about the program.

However, if your accountant is a one man show they may be able to give you more information.

Not sure why having an accountant fill out the forms with the farmer supplied info is different than the farmer filling out the forms himself. But it has been said publicly that by going to a firm gets you money from the program. Not sure how that makes sense. But they also admit they have to pay some back.

So in this case, MNP just knows how to game the system, but aren't in an incestuous relationship with the program like they are with the BC grant example above?

AgriStability forms are easy to fill out yourself. You don’t need high-price accountants. If you are hands-on its a cake-walk.
