Tile running

Took a chance on a tiling project last fall , checked today , it started running .
early for tile but we only had a few inches of frost .
I was worried about grade and length of project as we did it all ourselves without a GPS tile plow
tile is in ground for 1/2 mile to fence line then open trench to an expanded dugout .

Will get some drone pictures of the actual slough where we laid the tile when I can .
Possibly be the first time ever we farmed it. Excellent black soil , clay base with zero salinity

How much elevation was there from the slough bottom to the highest point? And how deep would the tile have been installed in that spot?

Looks good. What size tile and how many days would you estimate it would take to empty the slough?

Only about 3 ft , tile about 7 ft deep in the high spot .
started at 3 ft in low area of slough
ended up at picture on fence line
4 inch tile
To be honest, no idea on how long to empty slough . My first stab at something like this .
Hopefully drained in two weeks after start of tile drain . But have no clue to be honest.

I have some spots that could benefit from tile. I haven't taken any elevations but it may have to be too deep. Don't really want to trench with a trackhoe.

Those shallow areas with no where to drain is where we tried the deep ripping . It has made a positive difference for the most part . Will do more next fall if it works out. Just as much benefit with a few hardpan / headland areas.
Definitely interested in looking at what TSAFarm and seed man have suggested in those areas .
Land is expensive now , need to look at maximizing what we have .
Definitely would do elevations before I would do a tile project again , and / or make sure if you hire someone, they have the experience and equipment.
I left myself hanging at last minute to get the job done in a short time.

Its cheap and easy to get a drone outfit to fly a few quarters. They make great topo maps that make it easy to see the elevations for planning. The production off those reclaimed areas can be huge.
