One of these forecast rounds, they'll be right... There is anywhere from 1.52" to 4.52" forecast over the next 5 days. Im inclined to think we'll come in significantly UNDER the lower estimate, but wowsers, if we're in that 4.5" neighborhood (2/3 of yearly rainfall) then theres a chance I might need grain bags...

        Dare to Dream...

I can buy the kids new shoes!

We are in the same band. The hired man said aren't you worried seeding will be late?

Uhm no. I'll take the rain. It's been dry way too long. Would like to use all the bins.

Two days of drizzle and very light rain and looks like this one is over with just under an inch.
Looks like it mostly soaked in but anymore it would be pooling.
Do not want or need anymore until after planting and hopefully we get a couple week of warm sunny weather.

Another inch , but after two years of minimal rain, it will take more than this to rebuild reserves.

I've had two bins tied up with building materials for 3 years now... they're the worst bins, but good God I'd like to actually store grain in them someday!

have not had a rain here before seeding since 2004 , the year after the last drought cycle……
20 years since a nasty August frost as well. Could be time for that again as well.
