Friday Crop Report on a Thursday Week 6

Good morning. It's an early trip out to get the sprayer ready for today.

Total rainfall is 1.2 in since may 1 but we're still wet from last year so I'm happy we got it but wish it would of come in July.

Stuff is just starting to grow and the leaves are just coming out. To all the seeders who started in early April how's things going stuff seeded now will be up and at it in 3 to 5 days.

Peas and lentils will be at 50% seeded by Friday.

Wheat and Durum will be starting to really get seeded after we dry up.

Canola for our area is after the 15 Th so some really welcomed the rain.

So here is the crop report.

6 % seeded

Moisture conditions are excellent now.
Nice dry period coming next 4 to 5 days.

In really dry areas you are good till June but the sub-moisture can't be filled yet.

No one is changing seeding plans.

Fertilizer and chem no shortages.

Some parts are short.

Have a great next week and stay safe it's only a crop they are trying real hard to get for nothing.

Two and a half inches of rain total at our place this week. Like an answer to a prayer !! I looked back in my farm notes , and the last time we had that much rain in one week in may was in 2014!

Hopefully this will continue.

It’s so nice to see the dry areas get moisture!

We are 4.1 total since May 1,almost at the seed into mud is a dud scenario.Lots of chickpeas seeded here,as in thousands of acres, up from nothing in past years.

Our April peas and wht are just poking through now and have had 9/10” of rain on them. Sun is out and a lot of drills are moving.

Absolutely, too big an area way too dry , way too long especially Sw Sask and SE Alberta

Peas done now malt barley second drill on wheat

Finished all the peas now onto malt barley but new anhydrous system has some issues to work out hopefully late Friday have it working well. Drill two onto our seed AAC Starbucks For 2025.

3/10 ten days ago, wind won't quit.

Sure wish I could give you some of the 4 plus inches we received in the last ten days.Some of our land needs at least two weeks of dry hot weather before we can even think of seeding it.It is still early however.
