we managed to get done but when we could go there was not much sleep. Coulter harrow and the mud sc****rs definitely helped get done after wet.
Definitely hats off to those who deal with this or worse more often than not .
Dry is definitely easy but nerve wracking wondering if it will even germinate

Seeded canola on the high ground yesterday. Rained out today so not sure how long till it goes again. Using cultivator and harrow to tickle the muddy spots so can go a ways before having to turn the drill again. Planning to try broadcasting some so don't have to fight weeds all summer in patches. Crop insurance extended seeding deadline to June 5. Wheat looks fairly good and have not lost too much to flooding yet. Where is this drought chuck talks about? I have lost crop to both drought and flood. Less mess with drought.

My grandfather always told me he preferred it on the drier side than too wet. Back in his days the lack of HP made it miserable when to wet. Myself I remember the 80s and how dry it always was so I preferred it a bit on the wetter side but do agree u can get way more done when it’s dry. Helpless feeling when dealing with either extreme.
Most guys in NW MB area we are in are closer to done than the start but do need a few more days of Sun. We finished our Black Beans yesterday in some muddy conditions but with todays rain it shud cover up the boo boos. Most of the wheat and peas look good. Canola is still small and beetles are showing up. Some spraying for them but they aren’t near as apocalyptic as a few years ago. Some guys spraying wheat and pea herbicide. Canola will be end of next week most likely. GDD have been lacking so things are slow. Amazing what a difference seeing the sun can do to the crops. Giver hell when u can boys!
