That wind has a cold feel to it. Can tell canola isn’t suffering here as much since smoke and now cold rolled in. Actually it’s flowering better so hope it stays going till a rain event.

That should about do it.
The wife smelled crop insurance cheques 3 days ago when she went out to hang laundry ~7am. It's been burning now for 4 days. I thought the smoke would hold things back somewhat, but 103° with a 15-20mph south wind, combined with another forecast day of 100° tomorrow should be the final nail.
Well be processing straw, while the clean grain side shouldn't have much wear...
Damage typically shows up 3-5 days from the event. I suspect it'll stink tomorrow morning though. Huge potential 3 weeks ago. Nothing but downside now. 2wk is hot+dry.
