    CWB; Responsible Leadership?

    Agstar77

    I believe we need to discuss a few things about leadership!

    Like the CWB mantra that says they are the largest marketer selling to 70 countries.

    It makes my back crawl every time I read this deception.

    Then there is the example the CWB gives the rest of our marketers in the "designated area"

    Agstar77 said: "I can't believe there are no other more pressing concerns than the CWB."

    All other marketers watch the CWB... they are the monster on the block... and use their power without discrimination. THe CWB was SUPPOSED to be a light guiding the ag industry... but what happens Agstar77?

    THe CWB is first to rip off growers... especially on PPO's and the last to pay individuals for real risk, reward intrinsic value, and recognise individual property rights.

    Other marketers watch, adopt CWB character, and follow the CWB standard.

    A monopoly attitude will always lead to arrogance, disrespect, and an evil very negative system is the result.

    In large measure... the demise of our co-operative grain merchants/handlers... was caused by them following CWB leadership; these people who knew or ought to have known better!

    Can you imagine the CEO of any CDN multi-national getting up in front of a large group of Alberta grain growers & saying:
    "I will use a saying by AlCapone... we don't usually talk about the Mafia... but I will use it anyway;

    You can get a lot done with a SMILE,

    But you sure, can get a lot more done: With a GUN; and a SMILE."
    CWB Chairman Ritter did!

    When and where did he say that?

      Chairman Ritter's address was given at a scheduled evening pre Banquet speech Thursday January 6th; of the Wild Rose Agricultural Producers in Leduc Alberta.

      The CWB Chairman’s speech left us all with a strange final solution for the problems of the CWB in 2005 and beyond, by ending this confident relaxed message telling us to “Co-operate” with the CWB monopoly and we will do just fine.

      In concluding remarks Chairman Ritter said: "I will use a saying by AlCapone... we don't usually talk about the Mafia... but I will use it anyway;

      You can get a lot done with a SMILE,

      But you sure, can get a lot more done: With a GUN; and a SMILE."

      With over 100 people present, it was easy for me to get dozens of witnesses to confirm this is exactly what the CWB Chairman said in his official speech.

      Art Macklin, Allan Oberg, Jim Chatenay were a few of the folks that were at this Wildrose annual meeting.

      I would think if one tried hard enough to find it; the record of this incident is recorded here on Agri-ville.

        Tom4CWB,

        I remember that "strange" analogy, which, by the way, I no longer consider strange.

            Mustardman,

            Proverbs(17:15) Acquitting the guilty, and condemning the innocent-
            the LORD detests them both.

            (18:12) Before his downfall a man’s heart is proud,
            but humility comes before honour.
