Storms are taking a lot of grain out of the picture.

He’s dreaming. 100k at least when the engine times out. Prop needs to be redone regilarily. Annual inspections and parts aren’t cheap. Fuel. Insurance to cover the law suits from drifting. Absolutely nothing cheaper about them!

Plus the lower water volumes and headland issues.
Another Dad bought Son a job.
        And that's okay too.

A couple of neighbors have planes and the constant expenses make our snowmobile habit look dirt cheap.
I expect owning a plane is much like owning a boat. ( I don't own either)
The happiest two days of a mans life is the day he buys a boat, and the day he sells the boat.

I've heard a saying about camera's back in the day when camera's used film and batteries and a myriad of lenses, and consumable flashes etc. Something to the effect of if you really dislike someone give them a camera for free.

Plus.... without any chem allowed other than fjngicide and desicate... where are the savings?
in crop herbicide isnt allowed other than Glufosinate ( i think)

A spray Plane uses a runway on our land and his insurance cost is shocking compared to mine when i custom sprayed. 3x more for same covg plus the additional due to it being a plane.

i think that farm neighbour was pulling your leg....

Your (Plenty Loot Ain't Near Enough), so (Bring Out Another Thousand) smackers.
How many times can a manager order in a plane during the year to spray a half section of canola, and still make it pay? Lost count of its passes, but that pilot must have had every northward turn dialed in over my farmyard.

A lot of young inexperienced pilots with minimum hours pay the ultimate price. Being a commercial spray plane pilot is much different than requirements for farmer’s only pilot.

Flying farmer is what transport canada calls it. 25 mile radius from your home qtr is all you’re allowed to be spraying.

They are not allowed to bill if spraying for other farmers in that radius.
