Took 10 bushel / ac on one 1/2 section. , and is all through area
The pockets with infestation yeilds are off 50% or higher and the quality in those areas is terrible

Volunteer canola is a huge problem this year. Lucky I threw stuff in burn off for fields I thought were bad. Regret I didn’t do for couple others. Better farmers than me have far worse messes. I’m not alone.
rowing up bales on some rough ground we spread grass on this spring with no cover crop. Alfalfa got a good start.

Peas done. 13 to 24.5. grasshoppers are mostly piled in the trees after cleaning. Can't say i'll miss chasing marbles. Onto durum next. 1.25" here the last couple days. Hell of a time for it to show up. Hand thrashed some heads and I'd guess near 20% just after lunch today. Possibly go tomorrow if I can get everything tuned up, and a few bins consolidated.
Hopper bins of peas are going to the elevator next week. Aim for a load a day in the morning then combine during the day I guess. They dont seem to care too much when they show up. They've had 2 100 car spots since the strike threat so space seems ample.
Patience... Happy hour is on.
Lots of wheat samples here coming in at sub 60lb. Some in the low 50s. With nothing coming in much if any above 60lb, there's no blending ability. Some early seeded durum coming in "close" to what the stand should produce, but weight is a challenge. Time will tell what the later stuff comes in at. My feeling is it'll be lower yield, but better weight. Most all pulse crops are 1/2 at best of what they appear to be. Alot of the canola is pepper. Initial yields are 1/2 of what stand should be.

1st canola coming off in area today . Yields are half of what stand looks like .
And these fields looked very good, not a good sign but not unexpected either sadly

1st wheat field seeded may 13th Mothers day(110 dAYS) still has lots of green in it. this is my seed field so can't spray it, will swath it. usually takes at least a week here to finish in the swath.
HOLL canola admittedly is long season but it still has very little seed color change. so 3 weeks to a month away yet.
Tell me again how the planet is burning up and the oceans are boiling away.

From what I’m seeing desicating canola fields is burnt off spots, dead plants, green patches, flat on the ground, drowned out, and WTF in spots. I’m thinking it’s going to be allot less comparing to last years crop. They have it pegged at 20 million tons, I think it will be between 15-17 million metric tons.
