CP, do I believe climate change is occuring, Yes I do. It's a natural phenomenon, the earths climate has been changing for millions of years.

Too what extent do I believe "Man" is responsible for the current warming trend? Minimal to less than minimal although I believe it is higher than 0%. Probably in that 2%-3% range.

Do I believe "Man" can effect the natural rhythm of climate change. Yes but only within the confines of the 2%-3% we may effect.

Should "Mankind" spend $557 trillion dollars over the next 25 years in order to justify the rightness of Al Gore and the United Nations? No

Should we invest in cleaner burning energy and encourage cleaner emmisson standards on industry? Yes, Who wants to breathe all that toxic sludge?

Will mankind boil in a hiddious Mercury like (the planet not the car company) environment if we all did absolutly nothing? No.

What % of "man" (all of us real people, including the people living in China) will sacrifice their own standard of living for the sake of the third rock from the sun and it's environment. About 2%-3%.

What's the chances of Al Gore or David Suzuki altering their lavish gross overly consuming lifestyle in the future? About 2%-3%

Suzuki is geneticist by trade whereas some of the the nutcases here have degrees in climatology and earthscience. He may a earnest spokesperson for the enviroment but he isn't a supreme being. He doesn't have the market cornered on wisdom or foretelling the future. A large volcanic eruption could do more to change our weather than any manmade event.

Well i really do hope suzuki, gore and the scientific communitie are wrong.

5 billion people in this world dont have anything close to what the other 1.5 billion have but they want it.China is throwing up one coal fired power plant a week. Why would we not want to put a carbon scrubbing kit on those plants?Whats wrong with wind farms,Geo-thermal systems, ground source heat pumps,13 watt light bulbs, solar power(major breakthrew resently),cars that get 100 miles to the gallon, reducing, reusing, recycling, public transit etc, etc.

And here we go-"but gee whiz cotton we support all those ideas, but susuki and the rest of the greens are a bunch of nut jobs because man cant influence his environment"-and there your caught you believe in doing something about something you believe doesnt exist.

Im trying to think of the proper word that describes this thought pattern but have not come up with it.

Cotton you need to spend a weekend with a book written by a guy who used to think just like you. He goes by the name of Bjorn Lomborg and the book is called 'The Skeptical Environmentalist'.

You'll find that the future for both mankind and the planet are incredibly positive.

And then if you really are interested in making the world a better place read his follow up book 'Global Crises, Global Solutions'.

Burbet: I have to agree with you that David Suzuki is pretty sharp! Most con men are? Hey lets face it he isn't out shovelling grain or feeding cows in snow up to his ass!
David Suzuki has taken his "schtick" and parlayed it into a multi-million dollar business...you can't call him a dummie!
And just look at old Al? Two oscars, maybe a Nobel prize, possibly another crack at the presidency...definitely not stupid...most "slickers" aren't?
These guys remind me of Jimmy Baker, wailing against sin and evil...while he was screwing all the secretaries! Can you say hypocrite?

One other thing: Someone needs to tell Al Gore to quit lazing about on the jet eating fritos and junk food? Maybe get out of the limo and ride the old bicycle a bit more? He is starting to get pretty beefy! Might not be alive to take that run in 08 if he doesn't back away from the feed trough! LOL

CP, Aren't Geo-thermal systems, ground source heat pumps the same? Do you have a Geo-thermal system? How do you like it? Do you run a 100MPG car? and how is that working out?

Before you spaz at me please consider that my farm has been No-till since '86.

If David Suzuki and Al Gore really did give a damn about greenhouse gases they would be spending all of their time in China and India educating the Chinneese instead of us North Americans.

I agree with you CP, those coal fire plants in China should have carbon scrubbers. But the likes of Jean Chretien and Stephie Dullyawn thought it wise to sign a wealth transfer treaty but didn't think it was important enough to press China or India into signing on.

The Liberals were more worried about "Nuance" with China than world greenhouse gas levels.

Kyoto isn't about reducing world wide levels of greenhouse gases, it's an ultra leftwing political movement in western society. It's "Red" with a "Green" wrapper. That's all it is.
