Canola 9.8 down to 9.4 by 5pm..Spit of rain....1mm

Go tomorrow. After 1.4" last week, ZERO green, plumper seeds!

Less loss, cleaner sample, all better.

Standing around here still not ready to combine.

Wonder if Rd'up working? Lots of weeds.

Time wastes away in years like this.

Waiting for a better tomorrow turns into days.
Days turn into weeks.
The days keep getting shorter.
Soon 4 hrs will be a good day.

Yea, one combine went down sept 9, and dad banged away with his for a couple of shortish days after that, then there's been nothing here since the 11th. Absolutely glistening with dew every morning, and it seems you get one good drying day, then fog, or drizzle, or a 3 or 4 tenth shower... Forecast always looks "promising", but it never seems to get even to the "tough" range. Im not taking 18.5 and 19 cereals in september... That opinion will change if it drags into October, but my god does that generate a pile of extra work.

newer combine has a fully rebuilt PTO in it, now chasing anything else that might present a problem. There WILL NOT be time for down time going forward. I can rest assured that there will be some, but every hour is going to count from here on in.

Mustard is going to need to be forced to die... Stupid shit was drought and bug stressed nearly all year, and now it thinks it should try and flower again.

So long as I dont have to listen to christmas music on siriusxm during the last bit of harvest like we did in 2016 I'll be happy.

Got the Gates coulter harrow going yesterday, straw still not dry but thought I would give it a go
worked better than expected so did 500 ac . Even though we shaved the ground there are too many areas of logged stems that were flat to the ground .
Can’t leave that for seeding outfits in spring , so chew er up now , not much snow catch anyway with the stubble that’s there

Furrow if I remember correctly you have a Seedmaster and a Bourgault on 12 inch spacing. Is the Seedmaster the reason for not leaving the stubble standing? Or the improved moisture conditions?

Not this year , it’s just the best way to with lodges straw this fall
tge Only issue with the seed master comes from spray tracks or lodged straw
if it was nice even standing stubble , we would not touch it

50% of the wheat was lodged flat , also random lodged areas in every field
headers worked awesome but depending on direction it was impossible to get 100 % of the lodged areas

The last 3 years have been about the only exceptions when we haven't had the pleasure of listening to Christmas music while harvesting.

We even just barely missed the Halloween music 3 years in a row now.

Any year where we don't have to listen to Easter music in the spring while harvesting is a win in my books.

Same here , now looking to move dry grain that we have cooled out of air bins . Might need them as rain forecasted for early tomorrow morning again

That overnight rain absolutely soaked everything here
canola that was 10 moisture on Sunday was 15-18 still yesterday afternoon
so have to keep going with other fall work

Do you also spray wheat stubble? I guess before that harrow or weeks later?

Worst here is Foxtail barley in cereals. So need to spray canola certainly.

Never know if weeds get covered/hurt too much for spraying?

28 and wind dried everything here ,canola went from 12 at noon to 8 by supper,next seven days look good.Hauling loads to crusher while we can before everything locks down again with strike.Should be on the home stretch by weekend,possibly done in Sept., how is everyone else harvest.
