Friday Crop Report on a Thursday week 27

Hamloc do you normally harrow your wheat stubble in the fall or the spring ahead of canola or peas?

I have only harrowed a little and done it in the fall, but the ground is still covered in straw at seeding time. Was thinking that spring harrowing would turn the soil blacker, but wheel tracks and moisture loss might be an issue.

I prefer fall. I find in the spring the stubble pulls out of the ground and it is more difficult to make a smooth job. I generally try to spread the trash well and leave the stubble intact to help catch snow.

After several July floods our canola was a pancake too. Shaved swathing and straight cut.
12" of rain did NOT make grain, the heat still TOOK yield.

Can you run those numbers at 40% less yield just so the audience realizes what 80% of western Canada is actually getting.

Just so viewers here don’t get the impression that things are way better than they actually are .

Why change the numbers, it's what Sk3 got.

Shouldn't everybody have to know that, including Joe public.

What would be the purpose of the Friday crop report then?
