Good morning, yesterday was a shit show at our farm we played like gophers sun out try it spit back home sun out try it spit all day till 4 then a few breakdowns to end the day.
Should have stayed home.
Crop report.
Harvest is 86% done but the weather the last week hasn't been cooperative.
Didn't rain much just ugly wind and 1/10s rain.
The wind was insane Monday and did do some damage on lighter areas with pod drop. One liberty variety was worse than others and we will drop in 2025. Dekalb and Pioneer harvested already as both are weak on pod shatter.
Canola and flax are the only crops to go in our area. Both are lower yields than last three for sure.
Our average took a hit as we moved SE and hit a half that was down by a lot. Still trying to figure out why.
Back at it today should get to a section left before the next rain event on Saturday.
Fall work happening but with showers, few are on the Harrows.
Ripper arrives next week. Initial results on two farms from last fall ripping show Good results on flat sloughs that hold 3 t 4 in water that are gone and were seeded and had a crop vs no crop in not ripped.
Drive way ripping showed a 4 bus increase in canola but no difference in wheat yield.
Will have results this week on green lightning at the full flower on 36 C day and no fungicide trial but got green lightning. A trial on wheat vs last N and no last N shows it has the same boost as last N for protein and is higher than non-applied.
Heading north for custom work like always lots still out north of us.
Have a great day hang on to your hat
