Still doing canola should get to nine left tonight

Our 350 was worst in pod drop, followed by 356 and 345 being best. 356 was best yielding. We did have some Pioneer P520L side by side with L356 . The pioneer variety for sure had more shelling/ pod drop but yielded every bit as well. L340 was the poorest on our farm. My big beef is BASF's programming that makes it difficult to consider generic herbicides because you need X liter's of Liberty per acre to trigger bigger rebate. For years we bought extra totes of cheaper generic Glufosinate to have on hand because of shortage where BASF couldn't supply Liberty. Liberty price is supposed to be going down for next year? I guess we will see.

What was the maturity like on the pioneer P520L? I had some in also and it was very late compared to L340 and L356. Pod shatter and drop was actually pretty good on the P520L.

When I have to lean into the wind to stay upright walking across the yard its not very nice out. Glad we are done combining and field work on some will wait until this crap stops. The standing stubble wins again.

Lots of guys left canola out with regrowth waiting for a frost, they didn't want to spend are now paying the price and then some.

Finished most of the canola last night, have 40 acres of canola plots and 2 quarters of flax to do when the weather smartens up. Miserable day today with the wind and rain this morning, .8” so far with wind gusts up to 60k.

We got 7/10" rain cold drizzle all day...mellow soil to work now! Building subsoil too.

Up to a half inch rain so we took Sunday off. Start up tomorrow again. Florida storm is going to go right over my house ****. Oh well that's Florida.
