Friday Crop report on a Thursday. Week 29.

Good morning, just about got to the finish line but decided we hadn't sank a X9 this year so someone did. That 3 hours I wont get back.

Should finish the last 80 acres this morning before we head north for some custom fun.

Crop report.

98% are done and the last crops are coming off. Most should finish with this nice weather run.

Overall all crops like wheat barley and peas are average in our area to slightly below. Canola was down in yield by over 25% from the past two years, as it doesn't like hot July temps with wet feet in June.

Crushers and grain companies and speculators think farmers are lying, **** you it wasn't there.

Lentils didn't psn out either.

Fall work is taking place as we almost put 2024 to bed.

Overall we are lucky for what we got and lets see what 2025 brings.

Update on the storm in Florida.

The eye went just south of our home will get updates when neighbours are up. Cameras went down at 10:24 last night. Sheriff went on Tv and said write in permanent marker you name blood type, next of kin and a contact number on your arm so they can identify you. No one is coming if you dial 911.

That radar is just wild. Nice that you were missed. Kids from our town live near Tampa now and are living in a hotel since Helene. Their house is being re gyp-rocked and their furniture was out on the driveway. if that storm would go through the Keys, I wonder if much would be left.

We got the Northern lights in Edmonton area that night as well, but nothing like that. Those are awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Sprayed every field

You guys have to spray for blackleg over there? Are we not growing resistant varieties? Rotation?

Neighbor sprayed for canola diseases, made ZERO difference in yield.. Snake oil, cash cow.

Several compared straight cutting to swathing ...again ZERO difference in yield. But NO wind damage... till some pods dropped.

But weed patches and tougher straw = slower combining....everything works, do as we please.


We Saved the chem and tracking or plane charges. Combined days sooner.
