Good morning,
Harvest is officially done in Saskatchewan.
Results are ok for some disappointing for others as the wet June created shallow weak plants that couldn't take the July heat.
In a nutshell.
Durum yield up from last year as Durum area had some to harvest this year.
Lentils sucked.
Peas were average at best to below.
Hrs is same as last year for total production. Last years Great areas had a average crop and last years poor had something to put through the combine.
Canola is the sick crop that couldn't take the heat.
Look for a sub 17 mt crop. If you had 62 last year its 40 is a perfect example then throw in pod drop and insane winds this fall.
Fall work is taking place and clean up of June ruts is the big one.
Fall ammonia is going down in a few places, price similar to last year.
Phos facilities have piss all for damage in Florida so that scam can stop. They lost three days production.
A investor showed up wanting us to rent 10 quarters, Good dirt for the most part. Here is the deal they want 150 starting rent plus cost of living built in over the next 5 years. Adjusted up each yes. It would be $190 in five years. (Area rent is $100 to $130. With some dropping back to $90)
Its time to say **** off and farm it your self.
But some BTO who grew piss all and can't do math will take it just watch.
Farmers its time to tell these investors to **** off. Why lose money and work for them? They do nothing for the community at all. Lets see how long they last with no renters. It won't be long.
So this is the last crop report looks like snow Monday or Tuesday so maybe it's time to head south. Thanks for all that posted and helped out with the crop report. Were more accurate than Sask Ag and food.
