Aside from fire guards, which thank God weren't needed yesterday, you pay dearly for recreational tillage here!
Theres always at least one horrendous blow in the fall. It's basically guaranteed. Theres been somewhat of a subsoil recharge here, which may have provided a degree of reassurance that dirt would sit still... I dunno. I still think tillage is the devil here.
Everything's finally done. Quite a year. Peas were significantly less than appearances. Probably 1/2 of what was going up the front end. Cwad was a bright spot. There were spots that burnt right to the ground, but overall yield averaged out. Thankful that test weight is good. Variety seems to be the biggest determinate of grade here this year with a hot July and rain in September. Mustard was God awful. I'm in the phase where I think I've convinced myself I'll never grow the shit ever again...
