It’s the absolute intention behind the wording , and all farmers know it and 98% are against it .
it’s the 2% that support it that had the helping hand in writing it that’s the problem

There have been a lot of selfies posted on social media of farm groups meeting with politicians . Maybe less photo ops and more in depth talking would avoid this nonsense.

Conservatives in both houses could have slowed this bill . It is obvious that farm groups were asleep on this one. And individual farmers can't be tasked with making noise .

What exactly are our check off funds used for , and what are executive directors and policy people paid for??

Dude, there are no policy people, that's what I'm trying to say.
Your checkoff dollars go to agronomy research.

Because the only thing holding back our industry is just one more study on canola population density.

Yup, ever higher national yield targets. Showing competitor nations how seems important as well.
            Ottawa? That's like the weather.
Something to blame when hand sitting doesn't turn out the way we would like.
Markets? Hell, my Cargill rep looks after every thing for me!

And when the 5 year plan implemented by bureaucrats isn't fulfilled by the peasants, who gets accused of sabotage and sent to the gulag?

It is easy to see how such top down plans/budgets could end so disasterously.

The industry fixation with C 282 is misplaced. Bill C 293 is far more detrimental than
C 282, and has been all but ignored by agricultural associations, and Premiers except Alberta.

The cost of supply management is a consumer cost, & related to demand for the product.

The impact of C 293 as related to the climate, the pandemic and the over riding directive of the ONE HEALTH new food system has a published C40 target to decrease carbon footprints of individuals by decreasing meat consumption to zero.

This bill gives them the legislative right to develop and implement the process.
