The Food Professor: think tank of one.

Just wondering how many conventions and annual meetings have Dr. Charlebois out to talk Bill C 293 and carbon, general food policy?

    Quote:
Excited to share our latest peer-reviewed paper, "Implications of Carbon Pricing on Food Affordability and the Agri-Food Sector in Canada: A Scoping Review," co-authored by 11 scholars, this study dives into the complex relationship between carbon taxes and food affordability, especially in Canada and Western economies.

    Key Insights:
Carbon taxes impact broader economic dynamics across sectors.
Research gap in Canada: Limited studies on carbon taxes' effects on food prices. Economic impact: Carbon taxes reduce disposable income & increase food prices, affecting affordability.

Charlebois is excellent in my opinion. Pretty realistic in his thoughts.

Last time I saw charlebois speak it was like he was suggesting/ in favour of/ supporting cheap food policy. That rubbed me the wrong way. For that to work all tax payers should be responsible- not farmers alone

Trump isn’t the biggest threat to Canada’s agri-food sector. It's Ottawa." End quote.

The world has a cheap food policy.

We have an expensive production policy.
          How will that work?
