Sounds like the cynicism of 40 years experience LoL.

I think he would say you don't get lightning out of a 110 volt 15 amp circuit.
For sure he would say " Where is the data".

I agree with that. Listen to guys with irrigation. There is no replacement for rain. Crops can be in good moisture and just surviving. But after a good storm it’s better.

Its an electrical charge and water is the carrier!
Its not a replacement but the $40000 grand I spend on Last N and the fungicide savings would pay for the system.
Adding N for min cost and getting more yield is also a pay off.
On canola on 80 acres done vs 80 not the yield difference was only a bushel an acre I also didn't use fungicide and it was added on the hottest days in July. No burn.

The status quo fertilizer is very high in salt content, not the best for soil health
Who knows maybe maybe this Green lightning will be an alternative to reducing the need for high salt fertilizers.
Each to their own, we will try some for a few years and see
A lot of “agronomy experts” said Alpine would never fly , but it has a proven track record on thousands of farms now here and in the US
No doubt like many technologies, the process to make the green lightning N will be enhanced over time if it deems worthwhile.
If not it may just fade away .
But to discount it before trying it or seeing more data is premature as well
Time will tell if it sinks or swims like many of the biologicals , the promise is there but ROI in reality on farm not so much yet . I believe some day biologicals will play a role on farms .
Wether we as farmers like it or not there is huge pressure on our industry to reduce conventional fertilizers and pesticides, and that will be pushed harder than ever from RFK now as well .
interesting times ahead , so looking at alternatives ahead of time is probably being proactive if they can prove themselves worthy

I think a "set it and forget it" system would cost alot.
RO water isn't free, takes alot of raw water to make the amount people are talking about, then system maintenance... The more polished the water going into the RO system the easier it is on it. I wouldn't want to make the RO system carry the whole load of water purification when you're talking the amount of water needed. So what? ....pre-chlorination, retention tanks, sand and carbon filters and maybe a softener? Or some other sort of system to get some crap out of the water? I guess it all depends on what you're starting with. Deep well hard water can be challenging.
Storage, how much would you need? Heated? ...or can you make enough product quick enough to meet high demand times(even with a modest amount of storage).
I don't have anything on this farm that doesn't require maintenance or occasionally breaks down.
Just saying, better take all costs, time, capital and operating, into account. Is there enough bang for your buck? Or should you just buy another quarter of land or a lake home?
DYODD. I'm not dissing-it, just encouraging to look at the big picture.
I don't know alot of guys who like applying large volumes of water with sprayer applications. Mind-sets might have to change as well.Last edited by farmaholic; Dec 29, 2024, 10:41.

Search for this system and 'scam' on Google and then the same search on Duck Duck Go. Tells me all I need to know to keep my money safely in my pocket.
Can anyone confirm that it runs on 120V15A? That's unbelievable right there for a system that claims to use plasma/lightning. Wouldn't 240V50A make the system work 6 times faster? With an engineering background in a past life I'd love to take a screwdriver to one of these. Right up there with that contraption that put your tractor exhaust into your air cart fan. What ever happened to that system?

If anyone was brave enough to drink this stuff, was there enough nitrite/nitrate in it to turn them blue?

Would be interesting to see if there is a difference on soil test after.
Furrow biologicals already play a big part on some farms. It will just increase as more guys look over the fence
