Hopefully a normal weather year here in 2025.

Bit of heat coming bedwetters freaking out. Remember growing up think early 80s had a run of 17 days nothing under 39 maxed out at 44c but hot summers mean normal year here.

Weather issues in Australia not even a blimp on price radar nowadays maybe canola spikes occasionally on forecasts in oz either up or down

January has been a good month for shipping out grain most days loading temps are around -5 to -15 c coldest so far was -25 . Some guys just leave older trucks running all the time if cold spell lasts a few days. Feed mills and canola crushers need there product don't care if its cold . So far we had 1 morning -39-40 glad the tractors started didn't see any global warming folks out and about

Been a mix of a few days very cold , some average and some decent.
Temps a bit more fluctuating than normal though.
Snow about average here

This day in 1989 it was -75 degrees Farenheit in Alaska. !!! Saw this in my dad's farm journal I was reading this morning.

I couldn't imagine how cold that would be!

All day in -50 was enough for me.
Thinking -75 nothing mechanical moves without issues.

Now I have the luxury of being selective regarding winter exposure.
Kinda need a cold spell to finish projects in the house

Temps flip flopping here. Usually brings snow.
As usual, need rain in June.

Last few years in oz hasn't been a general good year all over. Climate change nah.

Had a pot load of calves come in during wet snow,rain than -30c 24hrs later. That set that bunch on their buts for a few days. Big temp swings worse than cold temps. But nothing here dies from spider or snake bites or gets eaten by crocs

I remember hearing from guys working in northern AB back in the 60s that they would leave their trucks running 24/7 to be able to get to site and back. Better yet, they would drain all fluids from their construction equipment into 5gal pails at night and pack them against the motel room walls for the night, then drop them back into the equipment in the morning.
