    Canadian ports

Who owns Canada's ports? How secure are they? Are there any port police left? Are containers being inspected? Especially Vancouver.

Anyone remember Project Sidewinder? Project Sunset?

A few years ago, even before Trudeau in about 2010 or 12 I had a chance to have an inside tour Roberts Banks Terminal at Delta Port. It is an amazing place and mind boggling how they keep everything straight as good as they do. It is very well managed and controlled, but by who?

PM Jean Chretien privatized national port control, disbanded the Canada Port police, terminated Project Sidewinder and destroyed some related files, and allowed China free access to our ports.

This surely is part of what the tariffs are about. The Vancouver ports fall under CBSA. I have to wonder what has been done since this 2023 CBC article? I also have to wonder about some of the ports on the US coast.

Titled “Re: S.I.R.C. Review in relation to Project Sidewinder,” Newark’s letter alleges systemic failures that enabled Chinese State Council owned shipping giant COSCO and Triads with suspected Chinese military ties to penetrate Vancouver’s port system. He further asserts that federal authorities ignored repeated briefings and warnings from Canadian law enforcement—warnings based on intelligence gathered by Canadian officials in Hong Kong, who initiated the Sidewinder review.?

“We are, for example, aware of serious concerns amongst the international law enforcement community surrounding the ownership of ports and container industries in Asia and, in particular, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the People’s Republic of China. There is simply no longer any doubt that drugs like heroin are coming from these destinations through the Port of Vancouver, moved by organized criminal gangs whose assets include ‘legitimate’ properties.”

Does it really matter with regard to American tariffs? Trump would probably find or make up another issue like he already has to justify the push to tariff the crap out of us. We definitely can do a better job but it won’t stop American isolationism.

In this recent interview Sam Cooper explains how China moves Fentanyl through Vancouver and lauders money there using real estate.
Referred to as the Vancouver model.

Names and dates of the progression.
                Including political interference with detail.
Canada is no longer the boy scout nation.

BCs economy is based on money laundering in casinos and real estate. Has been for at least 3 decades. No government wants to touch it. Disgusting.

Seems to be a lot moving around

Trudeau's babysitter was on CTV Question Period this am using the "less than 1%'" number as insignificant.
He's our front man in the negotiations.
