Tarriffs only work if "protected" country has same industries as country products are coming from.

Hence white goods fridges freezers from say china if USA had same manufacturing industry/capabilities it might work "buy American" if not prices to consumers rise.

One wonders what will happen to price of JD components made in Mexico?

Farming perspective the door might be slightly ajar for some new wheat markets but reality North American wheat producers supply different markets any gaps probably be taken by EU

Edit were are seemingly immune from most issues regarding tariffs beef our biggest export to states

Fertilizer will likely be stupid high over the next while?
Crop prices, hard to say. May stay the same price and US just has to pay the tax, or if they can get elsewhere then prices drop 25%. New equipment will be out of this world between the low dollar and retaliatory tariffs.
Trudeau was supposed to announce his response 45mins ago, still waiting.

Sounds like we are in a full blown trade war with the U.S. This will be ugly but I’m sure Canada will survive.

Just another tax on the world wide working class again. Nobody has any steel in there yard anymore that is 100% USA or North American made or has all the parts to build it. Gonna be a busy time for contractors to build all these new factories in the next 4 years
