No doubt financial stress is hanging over the background.
the amount of debt that exploded in the US and Canada the past 4 years is staggering.

What I'd like to know is.
If you're sitting on millions worth of farmland and no cash. How do you cashflow an optimistic 20 year retirement?
All the sky is falling people I've known over a lifetime never had either problem.

IMO, store of wealth changes with the times.

My intuition tells me several traditional "stores of wealth" will see significant drops in value in the coming 2-5 years.

At the same time, other assets will outperform.

Living like a peasant i survive quite well. Being married to a nurse doesn't seem to hurt either.

if you're sitting on millions worth of farmland that's paid off, or nearly so, I think you're gonna be fine for cashflow even in a depressed commodity market.

Now if you've got millions of debt outstanding on that farmland, you might be in trouble.
