Nearly half the list is agricultural products. Search reveals nothing to do with automotive.
I'm sure that has nothing to do with the promised escalation that Trump said will happen if Canada retaliates.
Looks like rural and Western interests are being thrown under the bus and not Eastern and urban liberal voting regions.

    This one stood out:
Other prepared or preserved meat, meat offal, blood or insects

So much for the New world order making us eat the bugs.

Might need to see the list they didn’t put tariffs on. It’s probably shorter.

Well Mexico has already exempted themselves from the tariffs. Took them what, about a day to negotiate that? All they had to do was send 10,000 troops to the border.
And Canada does indeed have a fentanyl problem.

Have you ever been more depressed about having the wrong person for the job as today when Trudeau is negotiating on our behalf?

I wonder if Trump will ask if there are any adults in the house he can speak to instead, then just tell him to put Danielle Smith on the phone.

I will almost guarantee that Canada won't get to the concessions that Mexico got. Trump Liberty promised that if we retaliate with counter tariffs he will increase the tariffs. So what did we do?

I don't expect anything good to come from Trudeau negotiating with Trump.

                He has to go.

I’m of the opinion a retaliatory response is warranted. Mexico has a real problem with cartels running roughshod through northern Mexico and not stopping influxes of migrants. Otherwise Trump going after Canada for same reasons is preposterous but he holds the hammer. Funny how he crafted the need for tariffs as a matter of national security. Otherwise house and senate needs to agree on it. We bitch here about Trudeau using pmo powers to be a dictator but this ashat doing it in plain view with his soft brains repeating it’s a border issue. Trump has 100 days to create as much chaos taking out any one or institution which tried to indite him previously.

Clamp down on the border and stop the drugs, why is it so hard to commit to. Be a good leader and a good neighbour. Should have been done a decade ago.

                        The Art of the Deal.
It was to gain attention for him at home and for the issues abroad.

Mexican National Guard patrolling the border overdue. We don't have the manpower to crackdown on a toilet seat let alone verify port traffic.

We shall see what changes in Vancouver. I'm not optimistic.

Stolen vehicles are in an eastbound container and on the water in days.
                        We'll see.....
                        No Starlink? That's a laugh.
Stop smuggling heck they couldn't even ban the First Nations SKS rifles.
                        Get tough on the Triads?

Attention to these matters is a good thing. Unfortunately we focused on TDS. And political brownie points at home.
Nothing much will change here I'm afraid. Joe Public on both sides of border seem to be generally uninformed. Prone to agitation by these antics.

But it will be an interesting USMCA round.
