I read that the average tax per Canadian per year for health care is just over $5000. There would be pluses and minuses to switching. I see few paths out of the current health care situation in Canada. Increased use of A.I. to replace primary care doctors, more out sourcing over seas are a few, putting all your eggs in one basket with the government managing access to care to control costs is asking people to support the current situation with their lives in some cases. The Supreme Court ruled that the health care act could not be jepardized with private health care even though they have preferential access, a conflict to say the least.

australia Medicare levyThe levy is about 2% of your taxable income. You pay the levy on top of the tax you pay on your taxable income. Your Medicare levy may reduce if your taxable income is below a certain amount. In some cases, you may not have to pay this levy at all. Capped on top end I believe

One positive might be access to US processing and their River barges on the Mississippi and Columbia/ New Orleans and Portland?
Might be a big advantage for beef and pork to have a return to free access to more packers?

Basically might be an improved basis?
            Larry?

same currency would stabilize a lot of things, most equipment is us priced, healthcare does not work well in Canada but is basicly free. No marketing boards would be a plus for me ,airtravel cellphones and host of other things would be cheaper. I am not sure if it is better we like to have freetrade with the US but have all kinds of obstacles in interprovincial trade. The rest of Canada has treated Alberta terrible for years and I don,t see that changing anytime soon.

Nothing about the USA is a Pro to me, here's just one of many Cons that really sticks out.

13 states have banned abortion and proposed bills this year to extend rights to embryos and fetuses, with Alabama's Supreme Court going as far as to ending In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

How long before the remaining 12 follow Alabama's lead?

In other words, F--- those parents that want to have children of their own and want medical science to work on their behalf.

Oh, I guess religion in their politics is right up there as a Con.

Forage, I personally believe that religion and state need to be separate. BUT, a void is created in the absence of religion. Who then holds the moral high ground.
