Good one Larry, that proves to everyone you're not really a troll - just thin skinned.

So nobody has to do a thorough job if it's on a Sunday?

Not even a mention by the government that these canola related tariffs could cost the Canadian farmers 1.3 billion dollars based on a $70 drop on 20 million tonnes. Might be e a good time to revisit the tariffs levied on Chinese EV’s and aluminum and steel.

I don't think I heard a peep about the China canola tariff on CTV Natinonal once. They did cover it locally though. But they drone on and on about steel, aluminum and Ontario's threat of tariffing or cutting off power to the U.S.

I don't know if CBC or Global covered the canola tariff or not. But it sure wasn't getting the press Eastern Canada's tariff risks were getting.... on CTV National anyway.
            I could have missed it...
Moe finally brought it up yesterday

A picture is worth a thousand words. These display the difference between crude canola oil and refined canola oil and why it's so important to differentiate between the two when considering trade with China. Take note of the increase in crude canola oil exports to China when they were restricting canola seed imports over the Huawei mess (2018-2021). The same could have been expected now if not for this latest development.

You can also see how shipments went from too little to show up for 2024 on the first chart (as the US took over completely as the importer) to the surge in the last chart showing Jan. 2025 shipments (as Jan imports by the US slowed with the expiry of US biodiesel blending credits).

It could have been a significant factor should the center of Canada pulled their heads out of where they shouldn't have been.

I think the government threw FCC a billion dollars to lend farms through the rough tariff times. lol a loan is not compensation for what the government is costing you.

                    Hopefully price is a factor?

Canola growers: A lot can change in the next 30 to 60 days. The recent fallout in the U.S. economy is stunning. A crack in Trumpism will spread globally easing the tariff tensions in most everything.

The Tesla ad in front of the White House just goes to show, follow-the-money. No more, no less.

We are witnessing history in real time right now.
