    Nitrogen

Were at 550$ in southern sask and the word shortage came up.

Supplier also said cheap glyphosate supply maybe a problem with delayed shipments already.

    Anyone else?

Round up is creating a shortage of renegade so farmers have to by their more expensive products.
Nitrogen is holding last couple of weeks but phos is all over the map form 485 delivered to 565. The 565 is major elevator company the 485 is independent.

Talked to local independent last week and he also expressed concern that they could be on allocation especially for urea. As more farmers switch to all dry it is putting more pressure on urea and also changing the dynamics of delivery and handling more product. Did hear a comment that the spread between NH3 and urea had widened to $.07 per pound actual. Would only make sense. The possible late spring for many areas due to large snowpack and cooler temperatures in the north might help by streching seeding out over longer period.

Generic roundup is selling out. If you are a big user, buy it now, or else you will be forced to go with Monsanto's high end products only.

I've heard Monsato have lots of stock, but the generics, Maverick, Clearout, Credit etc, or almost gone. Apparently Mosanto still supplies these generic manufactures with the active ingredient but have shorted supply this year, probably in hopes to increase their retail price.

my understanding is glyphopsate production is running at full capacity, both in N America and China(generics) and that global demand is elastic to price....ie. as generic asian production lowered prices demand ramped up......Monsanto likely produced a mix of low and high end products and has their production plan locked in between their own product and that that is pre packed for other remanufactuers.......the low end renegade is long gone as we had our order last fall shorted to our dealer...we have other options on the table now and we will buy the full seasons product....again everyone all horned up on glyphosate at the low prices we already have now thanks to clearout and the like, spend some time moaning about liberty, grassy weed control products and broadleaf...that is where we get bent over...when have you seen competitive forces lower prices on these products that are now in some cases generic chemicals???

they are talking 600 urea and 500 plus phos in our neck of the woods....we booked and took ours home some time ago at the much better value last summer/fall.......the corn rally did its number on these markets..
