Canola and Pea VS EVs: Colonialism has never been this obvious.

Colonialism in Canada is identified by the action of Ottawa placing the interests of Central Canada over those of Western Canada.

With the China / Canada tariffs on canola meal, oil, and peas at 100% all the result of Ottawa's 100% EV protectionism bill, the actions to refuse to address the issue by rescinding the bill, Colonialisms' trump card has been played on Western Canada by Ottawa.

A multi-billion-dollar primary production and value-added industry in western Canada starts with farmers, factories, the service sector, and the logistics network production that supports a diverse sustainable rotation.

Canola Crush and the recent billion-dollar investments into the Made in Canada Protein supercluster intended to diversify the protein industry into plants and this includes peas: Peas that depend upon China's export market to be a viable crop. All this will be blatantly sacrificed by Ottawa's refusal to rescind the ban on Chinese EVs despite higher costs to consumers for EVs to protect a developing industry.

“So what does that mean for Saskatchewan? Well, we grow a little over half of the crop, which for us means about 91,000 jobs – directly and indirectly – and an economic impact of about $19.8 billion,” Roberts said. “The reach of canola is very significant in the province.” (1)

I met the new minister last fall and he definitely seems like a huge Ag supporter. When I was in Ottawa I also met with McAuley, who already seemed like he was mailing it in... let's hope Kody has the entire country's interests in mind, unlike the rest of his party...

If we get a bigger brush out,
          - would a triple E Senate change anything?
          - a change in governing party?

if not, other longer term solutions should be examined

At the current time all MPs are mailing it in. Tried to get a call from my MP - nothing back and I don't want to call everyday to ask what they are doing.

The MP or MLA constituency offices should never ask, "may I ask whose calling"....
              stop screening calls.

Re canola and pea tarrifs and their affects:
                The silence is deafening.
Yet the media squaks on and on about steel, aluminum and the auto sector.

The bias could never be more obvious
it’s sickening to witness and see the willfully blind cheerleading this liberal government

I think they know my number. They don't answer. Leave the occasional message for a return call. Nothing. I don't think they have been working for the last 3 months.

They should have made it to almost all communities in their ridings with a good notice by now. For the fact they take my vote for granted.
