Today, Carney skated with the oilers.
Today, 100% tariffs were implemented on Canola oil, and meal, and peas to China.
Be sure to check the National news and the front pages of the newspapers to see if any media bothered to cover the billion-dollar losses and jobs threatened by the tariffs. Or if they just covered Carney at the oilers, which is a great decoy indeed.
I bet not one journalist asked him a question on the tariffs. In fact this issue is almost 100% ignored in Ottawa and by mainstream media.
So yesterday I asked the farm associations to take out full page adds in every city: talk about the impact of the 100% tariffs on western Canada. How it will impact the crush industry, the viability of the plant based protein sector. The sustainable rotation which is environmentally friendly.
At this time no one has bothered to even respond to the idea!
Since no one is informing the public about what is happening on western Canadian farms we need to tell our story. Are we not part of Team Canada?
Indeed our check-off dollars can buy the adds and tell the story.
What do you think? Should we be proactive and tell our story to the public?
