Jeezus why do I bother responding to some Loyalist from Eastern Canada.
Ottawa killed a project that private industry was already building first. After it killed all other projects on the drawing board. They forget that down East.
Wouldn't have cost you fools a dime otherwise and you still keep your transfer payments.
What does that have to do with your total lack of knowledge regarding RR in Western Canada. Or anything else out here. Your colonial take on our history shows with every comment.

Now you people turn away a car for the masses that you can't afford to build and cost the West another pile of billions. No mention of this. Or the transfer payments to the highest social cost per capita regions.

You make no effort to educate yourself about the territories beyond Ontario. Yet you blame us for complaining.

Lougheed missed an opportunity to let you eastern bastards freeze in the dark.

You rub everyone's noses in your hydro power we don't have the geography to build and restrict what we can build.

Our land titles used to have a full page reference to our enjoyment of said title at the King's largesse.
We still have a multitude of references to various RR caveats dating to the beginning, address Ottawa.

Of course newguy you don't want any change. You've been a colonial overlord for so long it's genetic.
Your comments from where you sit in Ontario or Quebec somewhere are so telling in their ignorance.
So revealing as to what's in store.
You'd better keep stacking the status quo parliament and senate. It's the only way you can maintain your power.
When my generation who know the truth is all gone you will have won.
In the meantime don't try to rewrite my history you eastern shitstain.

I wonder is CN is going to get shut down like the Canadian brewery’s product list getting trimmed. .
Oh oh…more US stuff to ban, stop using….then what?

Our commerce would naturally flow south. Number 35 highway would become the main artery to the US. It is a natural! If Trump made the million dollar invitation, I think it would be over.

IMO ,if Trump had started with the carrot approach instead of the stick, he would have had far greater success. As it has been said it is a no brainer that north south trade works best. Working towards a soft union on trade issues could have worked well. Having a very weak PM on this side of the border has made things so much worse than they could have been. We now have a sitting PM (at least for the next 30 days ) who is saying things that the Tories have asked for for years. Kinda funny how Trudeau and his policies have now disappeared?
What has occurred now is that so many people after being shocked at the ferocity of the hostility from Trump and now the hostility from many American towards Canadians travelling in the US, a line has been crossed that pushed back the relationship between Canada and the US 100 years, all in a few months. The ugly American attitude towards other nations is front and center I am concerned that this rift will now take years to heal. When I watch what the US is doing with Greenland, it boggles the mind. Trumps style of wanting to annex Greenland and other places reminds me of another person doing this in the 1930's. By all news accounts that I can see, the Greenlanders are furious at the US tactic and any annexation will be hostile and not welcomed.
We in the west are for sure in a bad spot as far as our relationship with eastern Canada and needs fixing in the worst way but instead of creating interest in joining the US in the west, people are becoming more and more united against any 51st state idea.

                Greenland, offer them:
                - million dollars for each resident
                - new schools,
                - new hospital, with all the latest and greatest tech
                - retirement - nursing homes with the best of everything
                - community facilities
                - preservation of culture, with limited and conditional immigration residency
                - preferential local hiring, merit based, training provided if necessary

Make it a place people envy and desire - locals would understand and want to maintain, appreciate and are great full

Make it a vote, 75% minimum to pass

Where did relying on government promises get the local indigenous population around here?

Free stuff is a recipe for failure.
