    OK Hothead.

I was merely pointing out the fact that the "Budget Topic" is not "Commidity Marketing".

Yes the budget is very important and it impacts each and everyone of us. So does a cure for cancer, clean water and war.

I am just making a suggestion to keep to commodity marketing threads. There are plenty of great other places to post opinions on the budget.

Take a pill and calm down there guy.

Laken:heres the MAIN way in which the budget impacts marketing;every minute the Tories stay in power we move closer to a free market in grain.

Agstar, cotten and I watch the success of the Harper govt with trepidation. If they make Aug 1 POOF!Barley's gone.

This is what makes every inch of nat. politics relevant to this thread.

That, and the fact that the cwb is pretty much become an extension of the liberal party.A liberal bastion in Wpg.And,you can be sure they,ll all be doing everything in their power to beat them in the next election.

ATory majority or strong minority next time andPOOF wheat is free.

Ideally, wheat wouldn't be about politics.Maybe some day soon.

The 2007 budget makes available $1.5 billion over 7 years for an operating incentive program, which will be set at $0.10/litre for ethanol and $0.20/litre for biodiesel for the first three years and decline after that point.

Plants will start going up tomorrow this is exactly what was needed to make sure capacity is built north of the 49th
I did not hear if Farm machinery will be hit with that $4000.00 touch anybody know where the details can be found

I don't agree with the whole Kyoto deal but the part about fuel security in North America is working out in my favour

Until Agri-ville makes a policy forum this is the best I have. You did mention plenty of other places to discuss policy any links welcome

There was an item for a quick write-off of new production machinery, 2 yrs, which may be of use . Pick - up trucks exempt from the gas guzzler tax.

The BioDiesel part was ok but did any one get a hint if they will pay the remaining 50% of the recalculation on CASIP. That is a major item worth millions to rural canada.

They haven't even finished paying the first 50% for 2004. They then will decide what percent to pay for 2005 by what money is left. I don't imagine there will be a second payment.

So the conservatives critisize the liberals as a tax and spend party and then turn around and release the largest budget ever.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

I hope they keep their promise on the gun registry but i wont hold my breath.

On a side note somebody somewhere liked what they saw because our dollar is up over a full point.

Dollar up because inflation is up and an interest rate hike is looming. Smiling Brian liked to spend ,seems like the Blarney is still flowing with Flaherty. It's all about buying votes in La Belle Province and Ontario, screw the west, as they are already stupid enough to believe them.

I agree Cotton the Dion and Layton faces do look screwed. Plenty in the budget for us farmers. Biofuel insentives, hey a biofuel refinery within 20 miles of my farm, my fingers are crossed. Good bye 1.7 dollar freight , ellevation, cleaning.
