Are you getting whats happenning? do you understand why we could only haul at a shitty price prior to the tariff of China? Our canola oil subject to tariffs so whats happenning? Crushers world wide have access to our cheaper than should be canola. the terminals no longer can hold our canola just to cheaply supply the crushers. This needs to be investigated at the very least. Keep the tariffs on these sons of ******* that cost all of us hundreds of millions if not more.

It’s more a functioning of all the low hanging fruit is now picked, and now they have to pay up if they want to buy any grain. From harvest till all the $100+ per acre rent is paid, fuel, pre buy seed, pre buy fert, credit lines due in Jan, Feb and March, and lastly the spring rent and some spring inputs, farmers are sellers and sometimes desperate sellers to come up with the cash fast enough. Once all the bills are paid and cash needed for spring is in hand, then only the hardest to pick fruit is left. And if grain buyers want it, they have to pay dearly. Oh if we could only have all hard to pick fruit.

I've got a neighbor like that.
Convinced that everyone else is out to screw them over every time.
So they treat every interaction accordingly.
It seems to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I think I'll stick with a less adversarial approach. It seems to work much better

I feel like I need a better explanation of big wheels question.
It was interesting to watch basis all winter with the gap in projected ending stocks. That's changing now finally. But what was going on beforehand I don't know. I didn't sell physical but I did buy a little insurance.
Export sales reporting is being resisted by whom I wonder......
When did China purchase the ships loading when????
And we're peeing ourselves over the US lol.
Who is pushing for reporting for that matter???? Not farmers it seems.
The open outcry that drives basis between competitors has sure changed with the use of targets. Take notice.
Excellent strategy. Hedging book risk and time lag near zero.
I guess an understanding of basis spreads becoming more pertinent.
I read one guy who called this all winter.
And remember, we are grain companies too. We have access to most of the same tools as the big boys.
Just not the same information.
Anyone for modernizing our industry?
The days of relying on Bruce Burnett were never tolerable.
The Great Grain Robbery could literally happen again.Last edited by blackpowder; Apr 16, 2025, 18:06.

This tells me that some of you have the same delusion as the felon. Not a surprise.
You believe that you are subsidizing the crushers with your canola sales, and what you really want is that money back, or an interest in their crush plants you believe you paid for.
Get over it. You sold, they bought the opportunity.
Feel sorry for Ukraine.

WTF does any of this have to do with the Bullshit going on in Ukraine.
We sent money and the usa also over so they could grow crops in a war zone.
A war zone and still harvesting seeding and spraying.
yea some war.
Crusher make money and win because we have zero info on what grain leaves Canada or what oil etc. We need rules and what we have now is a shit show.

Good Post BP,
Every farm group should be lobbying for mandatory sales reporting. They (grain Co.s) say it will cost them their competitive advantage. The Cartel of grain exporters now have a clear advantage over us as producers. It is a crime that this has not been done already. APAS lobbied the economic cost of the Viterra Bunge merger, fell on deaf ears or somebody was bought off.
The basis tells us a lot, but its always a week or 2 behind. They scoop up the easy pickings, then might have to work for the last bit of the boat.
