Charlie, did you see this?
CGC news release/Communiqué de la CCG
The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) has just issued the following news release:
Federal government responds to Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food report on the Canadian Grain Commission and provides target end date for kernel visual distinguishability
Winnipeg – On April 16, 2007, the federal government provided its response to the December 5, 2006 Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food (SCAAF) report concerning the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC). Most of the SCAAF recommendations remain under review as the government considers changes to the Canada Grain Act and the CGC. The government response contains one significant item which does not require a change to the Canada Grain Act: a target date of 2010 for the complete elimination of kernel visual distinguishability (KVD) as a segregation tool and variety registration requirement for western Canadian wheat classes.
