Your a piece of work wd.

    It's hubbert not hubbard.

No it isn't it is Hubbard, go ahead, do a search on google And that is what makes this topic so interesting. Misinformation and spin. Like Hubbard versus Hubbert, 2000 versus 2050, keep em guessing!

Good recent article on just that:

Oh and yes it is Dr. Hubbert. Cue the grin for dramatic effect.

I like the idea of growing energy but it takes too much energy (expensive N) to do it. Gross revenue will be higher but will the margins?

          Rook,

We must find less expensive technology to fix our Nitrogen to our crops!

N is so plentyful, there are other more natural ways to do this... N fixation by plants, use of Pulse flour instead of wheat flour etc.

We need a high oil crop that fixes its own N

Work is going on for N fixing canola and it looks very promising.

Does that mean 12 dollar per pound canola seed? Just a thought. Ignore me.

                Kamichal

lets check your chem. co. math here, on this new N fixing canola we are gonna call Profit N

your saveing 80 lbs. of N and that crop is gonna fix 30 lbs. for the next crop. so thats 110 lbs. x .58 cents = $ 63.80

Now your always gonna grow 40 bushell at 8$ thats 320$ for you .
For bringing you this wonderful technoligy we should at least get 1/3. lets round that off to 120$/acre.

take 120 plus 64 $ for the N you get 184$/acre divide that by 5 lbs of seed , you get 37$ lb.

Being your partner in profitability is something we take pride in.

To prove it we will carry the cost of seed intrest free till Nov. 1st

As a bonus if you book 500 of Profit N Canola acres by april 30th , you get a Free leather jacket.

Book now as seed supplies are limited,
                and Profit awaits

sawfly...you have a future as a seed and biotech pitch man....

by the way, I would be glad to pay for a predictable 3 to 1 seed biotech investment....skip the leather jacket my closet is full of them...lol

I have enough jackets that don't fit also.
Give me a watch every year and I am hooked. My wife brought 7 watches back from China for 1 dollar a piece, so far this spring I am on my third one.
Don't want to be too negative, we will be growing more canola again if it fixes its own N. And likely for a lower price.
I know , some day I should see some better profit.

Could be just what the biodiesel sector needs , cheaper canola. Cheaper canola, more demand.
