Why is it that the wheat board can drop the pool returns to lower levels and nobody says boo. Right now across the border you get 5.20 net cash in your pocket for their as the wheat board says is inferior wheat. U S FUTURES ARE UP every day but we stand back like a bunch of socialist sucks and support a goverment run bussiness designed to break the western farmer.What other bussiness puts imputs in the ground two years before you get paid for them if they decide if they will even take delivery. Nothing like taking your grain to the elevator and getting a 1/4 of your money now with a promise to give you some more unless a bunch of over paid marketers screw up and give it all away.If they miss a good market they get paid. In private bussiness they would be dissmissed immediatly. The saying goes if you can't run your own bussiness you can allways work for the government and screw up everybody else still get paid and get protected by a union.

Time and time again you will hear the pro-single deskers say that the Americans would not allow all of our wheat and durum to enter their country that would be delivered south if there was a complete open market. The point is that most farmers dont want to deliver their grains south but want that same market price here in Western Canada. Why does that imaginary line that we call the 49th parallel have to be the cut off for prices that would provide some level of a positive margin for wheat and durum growers. I eagerly look forward to the day that the shackles of the CWB are lifted and their is some profitability put back in wheat farming for this and the next generations of grain growers. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and for once it isn't a freight train.

I agree with both comments. The US market will not be flooded by grain when the day comes that the CWB is gone.
But maybe just maybe the price will be constant on both sides of the border. Yes its a joke that the only two crops that I have uncertainty over is Wheat and Durum.

The CWB is just preparing and saving us from ourselves... to make sure we don't get addicted to that high US Dollar... so when we are at a US $ worth 80% of the loonie... we will be used to our wheat trading at a discount to US wheat!
