    Incrop fertilizing

    Anybody gone in with their high clearance and tried it?

    Results?
    Product used?

    C.P.;

    Results... often plugged nozzles... Very low applications rate wise...

    Floating makes more sense... once the crop is established... but before yield is set.

    Rainfall is required for most N... 210024 is product of choice.

      We have done both a liquid dribble bar and floating 21-0-0-24. Just after in crop spraying has been the most effective, don't feed the weeds. Results from liquid show up with days and dry takes about a week to show up.
      We have not done this in 5 years but are considering it as well. Fert might be very aaffordable by then, and supply will not be an issue - never has.

        Done approx 6000 acres with our 4700JD, it works allot better than any dribble bar. We have done winter wheat, brome grass, and canola. You should add Agritain to the blend to stop gasing off, it gives you about 20 days protection. We go about 9 to 13 mph and use dribble nozzles that have three holes in them. we have applied 7 to 25 gallons per acre. Wash the sprayer good when you are finished and it wont have any problems with corrosion. I have tried every way to apply liquid fert and this is by far the best, you wouldnt think twice after trying it. If your pressures get to high for the nozzels you pick just drill out the orface hole out a little bigger. The auto rate works great.

          Use both 28 and 210024, 28 works best if you get shot of rain after so timing is crucial, if you miss the rain it can be tough to say it will work. This is best time for liquid if snow is less than 6 inch or so. Fines will work better if less rain floating around. Why are you wanting to top dress? If speculating that price will drop after seeding I wish you well with that have found most years price doesn't change till it is too late, however if trying to lighten the load for the drill, 28 and prepass and everest works just fine, make sure anytime you use 28 with a dry or ec that you premix with water, ie part a in prepass or express, dry will not break down with 28, roundup mcpa and 24D can be mixed straight with 28 no problem, remember that for every us gallon there is 2.98lbs of actual N, we spray and seed the same day so there is little time for gassing off. When we do top dress in crop we use the same three way drizzle nozzles as mentioned above next to no leaf burn. just be sure to get everything down prior to 4 leaf stage, just my experience.
