Vitera in the N.B. area is offering 46-0-0 @ $575. Cargil was still $800 a few days ago. What is going on else where?
I talked to one farmer today who said he can now save just over $100,000 compared to last week. Some farmers may start to twitch soon, if they need the write off at this time. I think sub-$500 is still possible,jmo.

Long time before spring. Last time on a fert thread I thought sub 500 would be possible. I want some bought before the end of the year for taxes. But I think we are heading for 425 - 450.IMHO. The fert cos and suppliers blinked. And don't kid yourselves mosaic yara or koch know very well the cost to shut a plant down when the simple solution is to lower the price. Safety and shutdown/startup costs are far higher than trying to make an extra 400 a tonne.

Big Fert companies pressured these guys to purchase because the price would go to the moon, now when it crashes their screwing their dealers bad. 400 is possible when converting tonnage and dollar to mid point Sask.
One question will the greedy Fert Companies kill their dealer network? Also one note most Fert. dealers did make huge profits in 2008 with fert. bought in summer of 2007 we cant forget that. That's why they got sucked into the mess they were flush with cash, Read financials of all companies, they made huge profits on Farm Supplies. Just one thing the farmers profits lasted 24hours on 25Th of February its been dropping every day, they just thought we would all be stupid and keep supporting unheard of prices, Maybe we are starting to wake up and see the big picture, Maybe.
