Only the Conservatives can attempt to cut deals with the "separtists." When the Liberals try it, oh boy that's too scary to even think about.

Here's a math lesson for you CONs out there:

Number of seats the Conservatives have: 143

Number of seats that the coalition would have:
163

Conservative vote share: 37%
Coalition vote share: 54%

I guess Harper will have to shut-down the house to keep the real majority from taking power or maybe he will send in the military to keep in himself in power.

Either way it should be interesting.

Westerners are going to get called extreme because we don't approve of greedy power mongers pulling off a coup with the support of separatists. Dandy. Lets call a spade a spade. They want our wealth so they call us names. Shovel their words back at them.

I am extreme, indeed. You should be extreme too, because this will be a war of words, and if Westerners can be kept in line by words, where principles get lost in the adjectives, we may as well lay down right now, and wait for orders from the east. Make sure you don't surrender the West's wealth to words. They will keep you in line if you let them. Click Here to Visit Parsley’s Notebook Blog to Read More.

Your math is out by just a touch. In the last election the separatist coalition got 0% of the popular vote and won 0 seats.

The conservatives won. Not by much, but they won.

Parlsey your wrong. Westerners are more than willing to approve of greedy power mongers as long as they are for us and not the other guys.

Here's the letter I just sent to the Queen.

http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/Page3776.asp

Dear Her Majesty the Queen,

I am writing you today with grave concerns for my country of Canada. I am witnessing something I find extremely disquieting and I believe with all of my heart will have serious negative repercussions on the future stability of my country.

As I am sure you are aware there is a Parliamentary crisis of confidence occurring in Ottawa and at this time no one can predict with any certainty exactly how it will eventually unfold. The three opposition parties are planning to ask the Governor General of Canada to grant them the authority to form a coalition government. I understand this may very well be constitutionally valid, but under the circumstances will be extremely destabilizing for the country.

The balance of power will be held by the Bloc Quebecois, a separatist party who wants to tear the country apart and has vowed to only represent the people of one province, Quebec. If this isn’t bad enough the deliberate slap in the face by the Liberals and the NDP to the voters of Canada will stir up an invigorated and angry western separation movement that is equally troublesome and destabilizing for the future of a strong and united Canada. There is also the matter of a serious erosion of confidence all Canadian citizens will have in the democratic principle of electing their government.

All of this without the consent of the citizens is unacceptable to millions of Canadians.
Should this coalition be allowed to govern without going before the people first, it will not only destabilize the country but also the very existence of the British Parliamentary system in Canada. This is something that must not be allowed to happen. Consent of the people within democracy is vital and the people have not consented to this and must be allowed to have their say through another election.

I am also writing the Governor General of Canada to express my thoughts and concerns about this issue. But because of the gravity of the situation I feel compelled to contact my Queen as well.

Your Majesty, thank you for your time and consideration of my grave concerns for my beloved Canada.

Write a letter to the Queen:

Wah, Wah! I'm a whinny conservative jackass and my party always wins. Even if we have 37% we always win.

Sincerely,
(your name here)

300 million for an election is only 1% of the 30 billion or more the coalition wants to throw down the toilet. Where will they sell cars and lumber to when no houses or cars are being bought in the US? Honda's sales are down 30% for the november. Lets think about this crisis - the coalition want to keep buzz hargroves over priced labour working. Its retarded.

I called ralphie's office today and asked why the liberals didn't fix the forestry industry when they were in power - the lady said they didn't have the money - funny I said you had surplusses back then. And where was the support for agriculture back then - why didn't you throw billions at it like the liberals want to throw at the other industries. Lets just say it was a short conversation.

I would gladly have an election for the cost compared to the mess the coalition will leave this country in. Harper's going to have the last laugh when the coalition has to explain why seniors are not getting some of that rrif relief. Furthur he might as well have the coalition explain why they were not in favour of showing leadership by getting off the public trough for election expenses and funding.

cchurch,

Now why am I not surprised... that you would react this way?

All it takes for evil to succeed... is for honest and good people to do nothing.

Bless you for showing your wisdom for all to understand!

cchurch, I know your slow on the uptake here but you people have no idea what you have unleashed here.

you spit in the face of democracy and laugh about it.

There will be an election and the undemocratic bloc will get exactly what they deserve.

Bucket,

You expressed the very thoughts I had about the $300M

The CHEAPEST thing we could do... is to have an election!

The CWB steals $300m from under our noses to give to the CWBsocialists... and then tell us we must grin and bare it.

THIS IS WAR.
