Hello, dolin, and glad you tune in, you will fully understand the significance of having Western grain flow eastwards.

In excess of one million bushels of wheat is carried through the canal.

The two-way nature of movement, i.e. graindownbound, iron ore upbound, is significant to the economy of the Great Lakes region, and indeed of the entire continent through the St. Lawrence.

For example, the Welland Canal, a vital artery, generates an economic impact of $222 million/yr in the Niagara Region and the biggest employer.

Trucking straight south to the US would cause economic kiniptions, wouldn't it? Pars

let's not get too excited. how long do you expect this coalition to last and what do you think it can accomplish? dion is not a charismatic leader and i don't expect duceppe and layton to get along for any length of time. if it means the conservatives get rid of harper and find a leader with more voter appeal it could work out to mean the end of the liberals for a long time. having a separatist party as part of the coalition is galling but it will be their undoing and, by the way, didn't mulroney pull in as much of the quebec nationalist vote as he could?

            Dolin,

What is your take on the Bloc teaming up with the Liberanos... for 18 months... ?

What about the Liberanos selling their souls and Chretien and Broadbent coaching the three amigos to do this?

            WHAT A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITS!

wHAT THEY ALL VOWED THEY WOULD NEVER DO.

                dolin,

You can see were just like Quebec out here, most are bright thoughtful people who are passionate about politics, and some are useless simpltons who need their finger to read.

                  AdamSmith,

Alberta and Quebec are direct opposites.
Alberta is extreme right-wing and Quebec is extreme left-wing.

The only thing that is similar is that you both want to separate.

cchurch, I guess you didn't read my letter, the reason I am so appaled by this THING, is because it advances both Quebec and Western seperation, two things that are NOT in my best interests.

                    Hang up, and Try Again.

I can't believe that people are actually for this coalition. If they 3 of them were meant to govern, then they should join forces, become one party, and we should go back to an election. They don't have the majority of the vote as they are still 3 parties trying to bully their way into parliment and take what's not their's. This whole idea that they have 62% of the popular vote and that gives them the power is noncense.
