    SHOULD WETurn our selves in to the RCMP?

    Charlie,

    Every time I talk to folks...

    CIVIL WAR;

    GUNS,

    Shooting,

    Along with the three stooges and Ottawa.

    all are on the lips of those I speak to.

    I am going INSANE!

    I am trying to talk these folks down from violence!

    If these things were said in an Airport... we would all be in jail!

    SO;

    We need to all turn ourselves over to the RCMP...

    Thats right... about 5 million of us.

    The 'designated area'.

    We are just evil mean spirited souls... who's minds are frustrated and fed up with;

    OTTAWA.

    What should we do... Charlie?

    Tom I can understand you're steamed. But Canadian politics is about compromise. Harper brought this on himself. Minorities require finesse. If Canadians had wanted Harper to have more power they would have given him a majority. Harper is a hyper partisan who takes no prisoners. Personalities like Harpers don't make good politicians in the long term. Your next leader should have wider appeal and come from a central Canadian background to avoid this east west split. The votes that count are in Ontario and Quebec. It is the reality if you want to form a majority.

      Tom, the other thing to keep in mind is that most governments govern from the middle more or less. Harper, moved to the middle on many issues to attract Quebec and urban voters and so does the NDP when in power provincially. Layton for example gave up his policy asking for the proposed corporate tax breaks to be recinded in the coalition. The reality is the majority of Canadians are centre to centre left in thinking. There is nothing you can do about that that is just the way we are. Most Republicans would consider Harper to be left leaning on some issues. It is all a matter of perspective.

        chuckChuck,

        Perhaps your community is different than mine?

        I just walked into the bank... to make a deposit.

        A farmer neighbour "bill" (lets call him)

        "Hey Tom; It is time we all got our guns out!"

        I hadn't seen "bill" for over a month... he yelled this out when I had just come in the bank door... and he was standing at the teller in the middle of making a deposit!

        The bank tellers and secretaries all laughed...

        What could I do anything but grin...

        Another prominent important person I know... just phoned me... while I was composing this very message... and told we if we were not Canadians... we would be getting out the AK47's.

        chuckChuck... you have drastically underestimated the public sentiment on this situation.

        We are in a FULL BLOWN crisis.

        The opposition stooges don't think we will fight over this...

        THEY ARE WRONG.

        THIS IS WAR.

        THE LIBERANOS DID IT TO US IN 1979... NOT AGAIN WITHOUT A FIGHT!

          For christ's sake - all harper did was to say that as leaders elected to represent the people we should be prepared to do the same as the people. This means taking a pay cut or defer wage increases until things are better. The conservatives had more to lose by the way of cutting off public funding of political parties. The fact that the liberals didn't like it isn't harpers fault - its the liberals. Their lack leadership to fund raise on their own speaks volumes of their lack of support.

          The people of canada will bury the liberal party for a very long time.

            bucket,
            Please explain how the street person with mental issues and no income or the single mom with a min. wage job is supposed to support their party of choice and achieve equal and fair representation in a political system that is totally dependent upon donations?

                Tom yes this is a crisis but there is no need to get "up in arms" so to speak.
                I will say this that if the conservatives don't stop calling the elected Bloc members "Devils" then the right will Never ever get inroads in Quebec.
                I just got off the phone with a conservative fundraiser looking for money. I will say the same to you as he. Who was the Architecht of this Calamity ? Stephen Harper
                Get rid of him.
                Put in Mr Prentice or Mr Makay ,because if Harper stays you will never get a majority.

                  Bucket we go to other countries to show them how to set up a democracy and one of the first things we tell them is that political parties must be funded by the gov't.

                      And in exchange they show us how pesky little things like elections aren't really necessary to form a government.

                        Agstar77,

                        I have absolutely no concern about guns... unless you plan on planting one on my farm and then report it!

                        Agstar77;

                        What does:

                        "pursuit of an effective new global financial architecture" mean to you?

                        I can't imagine any sane Canadian allowing this treason to take place... unless they are so drugged up/spaced out... they can't/won't read and/or flat out don't care.

                        I do care... even if you don't.
