Quebec Seperation part of Coalition terms!

    Adam Smith...

I caught a glimpse of this and recognised the double talk yesterday.. during the live telecast:

    From SDA:

"Is the Price of Coalition an Independent Quebec?
In their press release of 1 Dec 2008 (Open Letter to all Canadians) the three leaders of the Coalition stated their authority to replace the Government of Canada. They asserted that this right to form a government rested on the fact that “A Majority of Canadians and Quebecers voted for our parties.” This is an explicit recognition of Quebec as an independent Nation. Quebecers, as recognized by this document, are not “Canadians” nor can they be included in the category “Canadians” much less “all Canadians”; they are a separate and independent people and must be referred to as such.

This recognition of Quebecers as separate and different from Canadians is repeated in “A Policy Accord to Address the Present Economic Crisis” (1 Dec 2008). Were the three leaders stated that it was “the role of government to act as partners with Canadians and Quebecers.”

Duceppe, speaking on behalf of his “Nation”, stated that he had entered into the agreement "in the best interests of Quebec, of Quebecers during this time of economic difficulties." Any concern for the Nation of Canada was strikingly absent. His claim to speak for Quebecers and not Canadians was explicit.

Duceppe stated that he would only support the Coalition until 30 June 2010 (Policy Accord) because the various parties had not agreed on "concrete action to recognize the Quebec nation."

The price of Bloc Quebecois’s support for the Coalition is clear, up front acknowledgement in official documents that Quebec is a separate and independent entity that can not be included in the category “Canadian.” Continued support beyond 30 June 2010 will only take place if the Coalition takes "concrete action to recognize the Quebec nation." We can note that this is a full year prior to the end of the Liberal-NDP Coalition which does not end until 2011.

Clearly, the price the Liberals and NDP are prepared to pay for Bloc support is not limited to money, policy or programs. It would appear that the price they are willing to pay, and have agreed to, is Quebec independence. Only the details of when and how seem to be left"

I got the same jist about Duceppe extending the terms... from the telecast.

    THis is pure treason.

TOM...on 'Mike Duffy Live' this afternoon, a figure of $1,300,000,000.oo (yes, $1.3bln) was the increase, over and above the transfers that Quebec already receives, just to have Their support for this group of bandits.

Not sure what these monkeys are up to but my moral of the story is that we don't have to so serious to start something.

      Republic of Rathnelly

The Rathnelly neighbourhood in Toronto made headlines in 1967, while celebrating Canada's 100th birthday. During the celebrations, Rathnelly residents playfully declared themselves as a republic independent of Canada. To mark their independence, the "Republic of Rathnelly" elected a queen, organized a parade, and issued Republic of Rathnelly passports to everyone in the neighbourhood. The new nation conscripted all 8-14-year-old citizens to form a militia, known as the Rathnelly Irregulars, and armed them with 1,000 helium balloons (the Rathnelly "air farce"). The "Republic of Rathnelly" continues to hold annual street parties.

Typical Con tactic smear, lie, spread fear. Play one against another. Call up irrational scenarios. It is all about the cons staying in power and Harper keeping his power nothing else. Goodbye Flaherty = Loser.

There really is no point in arguing with you AS.

If you TRULY think that giving the balance of power in this country to people who would destroy it then you are a traitor.

There is no justification for what is happening.

          None.

Yeah , there isn't . Harper should resign for the good of the country. It probably would keep the Cons in power.

              Agstar77,

When did you actually read the legal draft of the documents you sign... you know the ones... 3 and 4 pages long... that spell out obligations and responsibilities?

Do you know what a Preamble is?

Did you know it is to be read into the entire document... and "it shall be read as a part of the enactment intended to assist in explaining its purport and object"?

              Do you know what:

              "“Working with our International Partners

The new Government is committed to working with the international community, particularly with G-20 partners, in pursuit of an effective new global financial architecture."

What does: "pursuit of an effective new global financial architecture" mean Agstar77?

              THis is treason!

                    C.P.;

Quebec is special... I will give you this.

The Bloc has positioned themselves... and we have allowed this to happen... by letting a separatist party hold us to ransom... which till now they did not pull off.

Liberanos and NDers have sold out... and now we will all pay.

So be it... but I will do everything possible to make sure those who sold out do not get rewarded for being traitors... by letting them get power.

If we can't stop these traitors from selling us out... it will obviously be time to take a different tack.
