At least he's one step ahead of Harper, he hasn't figured it out yet.

Actually I think he still doesn't get it, he's going reluctantly hoping the other moron chretien might tell him to try one more time. He would have been tar and feathered by some liberals if he would have stayed another week, but maybe that would have been a good thing for him he could have become the mascot for some fast food chicken joint, he certainly has the brains for it!
Agree or disagree with Harper at least it's not embarrassing when he (Harper) represents our country to the world.

I think Dion is very much like Robert Stanfield, otherwise known as the best prime minister we never had- Very honest and intelligent But due to quick 30 second soundbites and the media today the image put forward are more important than the message.
No I am not in favour of the coalition, Im just pissed off that we can't have a conservative leader who will govern instead of trying to Conquer.
Lets get on with running this country till the next election instead of playing all these Partisan games and Steve we know your an economist but please stop at Staples and buy a calculator ,
Cause your starting to look like most conservative gov't that keep putting us in deep deep debt and then it takes the next 15 years of cut back to get back to par!

Lets think outside the box a bit.

Harper appointed Manley to do a study on the war in Afghanistan (I think, not sure). Harper and Manley understand each other because of this.

Manley writes a piece in the paper saying Dion should step done and voila it happens.

Harper realizes it would be better to go against Iggy or Rae. Harper knew that years ago.

The man that should be running the liberal is Manley. Then I think you would see Harper change his strategy a bit.

Actually it would make for good politics. And make a better country.

Unfortunately, the liberals lust for power is so great they get the - can't see the forest for the trees mentality - and carry on with the same losers.

The problem developing is Manley has already recognized this and there is a better chance he will go to the conservatives than the liberals will put him in the top spot.

Its too bad - I think Harper and Manley in opposite roles would have covered the spectrum of views it takes to fix this crisis - not only nationally but internationally as well.

The Liberals seem to be in a bit of disarray with their throwing Stephane under the bus after the election, then dusting him off and putting him forward as a coalition PM, and now putting fresh bus tire tracks across his chest. Maybe they think that they’re polling badly because of his leadership of the coalition, and not the fact that they joined the coup.

As Christie Blatchford points out with the NDP conference call, this coup was planned before any announcements of the slashing of $1.95 hogtrough entitlements, although that was what flushed the scheme out into the open. A very illuminating read at:

one of the effects of this proragation of parliament is that it does give the libs time to dump dion and thus possibly gain some credibility for the coalition. other countries have elections and then parties negotiate their coalition partners so i don't see this as some huge crisis. a stronger liberal leader might be a problem for layton and that would be a good thing.

Bob Rae is now out of the race. Iggy gets a coronation. The Liberals now have a leader they never voted for, and of all things he's an American.

                          jensend,

This is new corrupt American politics... NOT Capitalism.

The world is so far away from Capitalism... I think it has taken refuge on MARS.

Gov's everywhere have stopped competition... and encouraged monopolies of power in general. They then create vast amounts of profit... which are easy to secure/tax.

Thus the economy fails... because of a lack of innovation and efficiencies.

no kidding! that's exactly right and that's why the system is about to fail. it is now the united socialist states of america as the american govt. takes equity stakes in the banks and car makers. that country is so screwed and they'll take us down with them.
