Lweber: I thought your hero Harper and his boy wonder Anderson 'cleaned up' the voters list.
btw, Anderson also has a mustache just like yours.

3000 seeded acres , 3 landlords
i have 1 permit book and 2of3 landlords have books.
i voted pro board and one landlord voted board, the other i have no idea, whether he voted or not.
i was really quite suprized with the results .
the anti board guy worked hard , even called me. lots of advertising, etc. good effort.
i thought this election was the beginning of the end of the board.
after harper had laid the ground work with his appointments.
once you get rid of it you will never get it back.
all of you that think you will get US price without tarrif or restriction are dreaming.
once you pull the board and grain starts flowing to the highest price market, it is no longer the highest priced market, or the door is closed.
maybe we can do better on our own marketing who knows?
either way i will accept the results when the majority of farmers vote for it

It would seem that the election had more to do with a referendum on single desk
that a sharing of vision for the CWB/highlighting leadership capability. The
results are there however.
I am likely more interested in what the new directors will push for going forward
and the likely impact on CWB operations starting with barley. Opportunities are
available today for malt barley but likely at below the current PRO. So the choice
is to protect the PRO by restricting delivery access or present a price (could be a
rejuvenated cashplus to reflect a particular sale opportunity or
specification)/allow farmers to make a decision about contracting/delivery.
Not wanting to hijack the thread to a new direction but this is what is needed
from the new board of directors - strategic thinking and a commitment to
monitoring performance of the operations side.

Didn't get to vote this time but would have.
4000 acres
3 permit books. Mine, son has one and the landlord has one for his own reasons. Landlord is not active in management and probably would not of voted- maybe would have if i prodded. All are 00 numbers. (Alberta)
