What leads you to believe the Board is ganging up on anybody? What evidence do you have that it's getting you better prices?

How many Trade Challenges have the American Farm groups launched against the Board .To me that is proof we are efective .

So in your mind you are convinced that the US is launching trade challenges because the CWB is raising the world price? Is that correct or not?

How many american farmers do you see running the boarder smuggeling grain into Canada so they can sell through the board to achieve those mystical premiums

R230:

You got my attention with "You just can't seem to understand that the CWB is good for farmers as a whole"

I'm old and I'm slow. Please explain to me how the CWB is good for farmers as a whole, cuz I just don't see it.

Maybe this is, an issue of the old guys.
However, growing up working with my grandfather and father it was just understood that the CWB monopoly was something they didnt like.
They said it was a communist system. It wasn't said in a derogatory way but in a way that was matter of fact.

This is not a debate between young and old. It is a struggle of philosophies. Each side has their "evidence".
Does the evidence point toward forced compliance as agreeing with the common freedoms guaranteed to all citizens of this country.
Or does the evidence point towards a glaring hypocrisy in the freedoms we as farmers should have, regardless of whether the CWB earns premiums or not?

I'm far from old and far from comunist, but the real question here shouldn't be CWB or NOT, the real question should be who's accountable. In theory pooling is a good idea and single desk selling should drive a premium, but when someone misses the market by 56% heads should role. This whole situation with both sides bickering with each other is like have two security guards bickering over their favorite sports team while the robbers get away with the lute. I really wish everyone would work toward fixing this messed-up system before deciding to throw it out. The first step would be setting up a constitution with obligations and resposibilities...ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!

Hear, hear!

To be clear - those that want a voluntary CWB (at least the many I talk to) do NOT want to throw out the CWB - that is just pro-single desk rhetoric (and I'm afraid it appears you've bought into it).

This statement equals short sited gain for long term pain.

The CWB could be good for farmers if they did not have the monopoly.
