    Pressure from Suppliers!

    Getting bombarded by suppliers lately.
Viterra out today with their program for Anhydrous .545 full delivery. PAY IT ALL NOW!
The Fert rep has been told by head office get your farmers to buy or they will loose this program so go out and get them to commit with Sale and CASH UP FRONT.
Then after noon the Independent showed up his supplier told him how much sales could you take now. He said and then they gave him a price on HALF. Payable by mid Feb. He wont confirm a price but can lock in tons.
Then the third Elevator showed up he has no Anhydrous but can supply 46 only problem he is 120 to high compared to latest quote sheet for what I still need. Pressure from his head office to get sales. Also wanted me to pay for my three big boys by CASH today for bonus 10% discount I said if its 10% of the price you gave me you'll get paid he said that was the discount I sent him home.
Then another independent showed up this after noon big hurry for me to get last of Phos I need and Canola blend. CASH NOW Delivery end of Feb. Then it was 1/2 Cash now 1/2 last week Feb.
Now from my friend he said that they are having problems sourcing the product. Have farmers that would take all their N but he cant get supply. He feels the companies dont know how to cope with low sales and the world economy. Their trying to put a good face on their sales sheet to make their shareholders happy and their CEOs keep their cushy Job. He also said yes all the sales that he did up to last quarter he should eat. He feels he bought the product that's business but after that the product he needs should be at the new price etc. But guess what their creating slow downs no product etc etc etc.
You think us farmers are frustrated He said you should be in My shoes.

I have noticed the same thing here over the past few days. Buy now! - everything, fert - chem - seed, wtf is going on? I have never witnessed such a panic to grab as much farmers money as possible. I agree this may have alot to do with first 1/4 earnings.
This b/s started in July with the push to but overinflated fert(which has never happened before in history), I think the same thing is going on now.
Is it possible that the powers that be have ran out of places to steal money and are now focusing on agriculture to suck every last dime from our pockets before something big is about to happen - sure seems that way?
Waiting last time(fert) paid huge dividends for us, We are inclined to do the same again.
Farmers could very well get caught with their pants down by being forced to pay forewrd all their money and then end up with a further commodity crash/short crop, both are possible.
One thing it does show that without our collective purchasing power they are all fubared. Use this as as effective bargining chip to get the best price possible, the power is in your hands not theirs and they do not like it at all.

Its just getting weird, CASH CASH CASH. But their is no real discount for paying cash. So are we just generating money supply for them, with out product back to us. Or is the Ship going to hit the fence this Feb. 25. And its not like last years. Either way I am out of here with some purchases and will continue to wait.

Yea most of us are usually petty well positioned at this time of year. But this year what I see the companies are pushing for sales. Simply looks like a sales meeting Go out get as much sales by month end as you can tell them any thing to get the sale, work the room, advertise, put out scare flyer's etc etc etc.
Maybe just drop the price to real value and quit the games and the sales will come.
Any way cant wait to get the hell out of here its going to be cold today emptying HRS Bags.

In Texas the price of Anhydrous has dropped $20.00 Us a ton since 2nd week in January. ND farmers can lock in Anhydrous at $350 US a ton should be close to $496. Canadian a ton not double here.
