CWB hitting the Media for Grain?

Just back from a road trip north and kept hearing how the CWB needs your grain so please haul in April and May.
Lets see in a real market the price would rise in May and April if you had crop you could get paid more for your product and deliver to fill their orders.
But only in Canada would your money go to advertise to bring in your own grain for no bonus to you. Actual less money since the advertisement is paid out of your pool account.
Love our system, Just love it.

You also get paid less for August off-the combine deliveries.

Grain bug, not always and if the price is too low you store it in august and sell it later. What was the price of peas off the combine last fall?
There is no incentive at all to haul wheat during road bans, add a buck a bushel and you may get some. Local Pioneer(Richardson) needed canola to fill orders recently and added a very atractive premium the got the orders filled - it is the way the rest of the world works.

The CWB usually is the lower price year round.

Hey gregpet..I agree. The CWB is a price taker, not a price maker.

Grain bug, still pays better than wheat, and one can sell as much as needed - when needed.

I thought the long cold winter would have taken care of any grain bug infestation!!! Will anyone be hauling board grains in April and May? ....... In January and February 2008, the most open, mild winter in a long while, the CWB complained it couldn't get farmers to make durum deliveries. It was suggested to them that they should close the pool early to protect the then higher durum prices for those who were current with contract tonnage, and to force delivery on the vacationers, housewarmers, and provincial travelling hockey parents who felt August 01 and beyond was plenty soon enough. What makes the CWB think their persuasive pleading will help them with wheat deliveries this time around in road bans and spring seeding?
