    1 week and counting!

Well after the Over one inch of moisture last week from rain, we will not be in the fields in one week.
Were wet now really wet. Always say rain in spring is way better than any snow in winter.
Funny phone not ringing off hook for cleaning this spring. Talked to a few others in area and are finding the same.
I think HRS wheat Acres will be up.
Canola Down. Flax up. Lentils up. Peas down and Oats dropped off the map. Barley down and Durum down.
Phone calls about flax seed and HRS but that's about all.
Also why are the elevators wanting farmers to deliver them canola and put on a July contract so bad Last week they were all in our yard a couple of times. (Cargill,Viterra, Pioneer)
One other note some guys in area are looking for dirt real bad. These were smaller farmers who would like to expand. Literally phoning people who might be sick, or older, looking for dirt.
Equipment auctions are also out of this world. But got price on New JD 9630 Full load and cash no finance or trade is $335,000.00 I guess that one is out of the question. Maybe Big Versatile at $286,000.00 Yea HA HA it will be none. But the high price of new and crappy new mega dealer service may be the reason the sales are on the up swing. Dealers giving below auction trade in value and then wondering why farmers are going to auctions.

The others in my area have the same plans for seeding to. Want to hear someone cuss, just mention oats. Myself wheat will be down. The CWB can't sell last years crop. Spend more time marketing it than all my other crops.

Yea Oats is a swear word in our area only "only" will have extra acres if it stays wet all may and seeding is delayed. Canola is the other big joke you can pick any variety still and their cheaper than last fall. Tells me demand is low.

I personly do not think canola is a big joke. After the mamoth crop we had and the current recession, I can still pencil in a descent profit on my farm. This is something a lot of other buisnesses cannot do. Soybeans look promiseing to me to. Hope farmers don't have to grow oats because of a wet spring. The complianing will depress me this winter.

No what I mean is Ag Canada and Canola Growers Association saying our acres will be way up this year. That's the joke.
It pays the bills for us to.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I remember my 1st year farming. I planned on growing a field of flax because i did not have much cash flow or bin space. Then reports came in very negative for the crop. Was set up and grew it anyway. I was happy as a pig in a poke were prices ended up that fall.
