    Lets thin the Herd.

Just got two two holes in Tractor tire from a deer antler. Isn't it time to open the season up even more. Its economical for all of us from the damage to hay, grain, etc.
Counted about 125 the other night in a field on way home.

Just remember in order to do this the hunter has to enter onto private property. After the wreck we had last year( headless carcasses, roads along hedge rows and lack of respect for private property)a neighbor and I are posting our land when rifle season opens.

With that many deer some of your bins must be full of deer shit. So was that your new tractor tire?

It only takes one deer to drop a horn in your field to get a flat tire my friend. SO unless you plan on getting rid of all the deer, at least the bucks, you're not going to fix that problem. Was it a big horn? If it was I could come take care of that one this fall, and I won't cut fences or just take the head. Not all hunters are disrespectful, alot are farmers too.

Just smoked my deer sausage 2 days ago as it is to wet to seed yet. It is better than any sausage you can get in the store. Maybe I should send you the recipe to hand out to the locals, lol.
Around here the game wardens are not hasseling the hunters at hunting season anymore. Some areas allowed 2. Young people do not need a licence for they are trying to get more people to hunt deer again. Not only to keep the population from growing but also to collect the licence fees.

oh saskfarmer...you were talking about DEER...rats...lol...

in BC they tried a program where ranchers/farmers registered with conservation and and tickets were issued to allow hunters to go onto private property and take game...this controlled the end result (carcasses etc)...

we are having a SEVERE problem with the deer population in the Okanagan...too many deer...and too many eco friendly green people...not enough good ole'boy rednecks....vs
