Al Gore can go to HE Double hockey sticks.

This global warming thing has pretty much have to run its course. My god its getting colder in Western Canada not warmer. And if our Cows are the real culprits of the earth getting warmer then maybe their needs to be more cows.
It was finally really nice the last two days to spray in front of the drill then woke up this morning to today's forecast Freezing rain. Its may 13 is this a joke. Also who has crop that is up? Peas will be two weeks Saturday Nothing.
I hate the cold weather so venting.

I can find snow in the tree lines here. This is old snow, not new.

The situation is now referred to as "Climate change" and yes it is happening

Peas were in the ground for 20 days before emerging noticed some on sunday.

Glad to see this rain and snow. I have never seen it this dry. There is enough moisture below but you had to go down 3 to 4 inches to get to it now.
So you either go down and rip and tear to put seed into moisture Or just lay the seed in dry dirt at 1- 2 inches
Had seeded peas and lentils into moisture but all the high winds and not even a shower caused seed bed to dry.

Yes its climate change and maybe just maybe its getting colder due to sun spots. not C02.
Pushed apart snow piles left in field around the bags. looks funny seeding through these.

DITTO! I have strongly suggested that to MP and MLA re CO2 reductions etc. Emailed Environ Canada to retract all Global Warming Lies. Yesterday it hailed quarter sized, off and on for an hour in Kelvington, Fosston & Rose Valley area. Lots of thunder, plus 1/2 an inch so all is at standstill. Soil moisture is ideal but too cold. Soil temps at 4C, so what could grow? I guess 20% seeded. Minus 4 now, with a wicked wind all night. Yes, I am hearing its the decreased sun activity as indicated by less sunspots. Let's send Gore and Suzuki up there to fix that! At very least consequences for the warming lie perpetrators.

The reduced sun spot activity is probably causing the cold spring. BUT the long term outlook tells us the climate is changing with increased temps.
If it had been called "climate change" from the start we would not have every Tom dick and harry being naysayers every time there was a cold day.

I read or heard form someone that the 100 year SLIGHT increase was wiped out by record cold temps since December. Winter record cold temps were set everywhere. Many climatologists never bought into warming and climate has always changed, eg 1100's warm spell, and 1700's mini ice age. Lets keep researching this.

People like mustardman do not want discussion, they want society to blindly follow without question. It makes me sick.

Its minus 6 here already, dam drill anhydrous froze up openers when planted along the edge of the field, time for a wiskey.

dave441 we've been twiddling our thumbs on this issue for fifteen years and if we don't get our heads around this and start to ACT and actually do something to reduce our carbon - its going to cost us big time

Lots of opinion out there. Google sunspots global cooling. Here is one quote...Global warming (i.e, the warming since 1977) is over. The minute increase of anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere (0.008%) was not the cause of the warming—it was a continuation of natural cycles that occurred over the past 500 years.

The PDO cool mode has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of about 30 years of global cooling, perhaps much deeper than the global cooling from about 1945 to 1977. Just how much cooler the global climate will be during this cool cycle is uncertain. Recent solar changes suggest that it could be fairly severe, perhaps more like the 1880 to 1915 cool cycle than the more moderate 1945-1977 cool cycle. A more drastic cooling, similar to that during the Dalton and Maunder minimums, could plunge the Earth into another Little Ice Age, but only time will tell if that is likely.

Don J. Easterbrook is Professor Emeritus of Geology at Western Washington University. Bellingham, WA. He has published extensively on issues pertaining to global climate change.

"... cost us big time" ?

The only thing that is going to cost us big time are the taxes these governments want to impose on everyone to fund more social programs and gov't employees. Do you really believe that if Canadians slash our co2 and hammer our economy back to the stone age, that the rest of the world will too? What would more co2 and a slightly elevated average temp. mean to your farm?

Tell us what you are doing to reduce your carbon usage mustard.

Our crops are going to need all the C02 they can get after the way the weather is treating us this spring.
